While the idea of a touring band dedicated to covering songs by David Bowie might seem like a crass cash-in at first blush, the Celebrating David Bowie tour comes from a place of love. All of the band members collaborated with Bowie extensively during his career. Led by Mike Garson, Bowie’s go-to pianist for everything from 1973’s Aladdin Sane to 1997’s criminally overlooked Outside (and beyond), the band also features longtime collaborator Earl Slick – notably responsible for the snarling railway of feedback that snakes its way through “Station to Station.” Since no one vocalist could match Bowie’s range and swagger, the tour relies on contributions from a variety of guests. Bring some tissues; you’re bound to get some stardust in your eyes.

7 p.m. Thursday, March 15 | The Plaza Live, 425 N. Bumby Ave. | 877-435-9849 | | $29.50-$49.50
