Altamonte Springs police say a business posing as an LGBTQ support center was actually a sex club that charged membership fees.

In December, detectives began looking into Craigslist posts that advertised a place where men could meet up to have sex in an Altamonte Springs strip mall on State Road 436 near Lake Brantley. The organization, called "Club 1000," advertised "pornography broadcasted for guests and private rooms and 'glory holes' being available for guests to use to engage in sexual activity," according to the police report. Guests were advised to park in the back of the business and that admission would be $15 plus a $5 monthly membership fee. It was open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and lunch hours were reportedly the busiest times.

Records from the Altamonte Springs Clerk’s Office showed a new business at the same location that called itself "TA Support Group, LLC" and said it provided "non-medical counseling services" to the LGBTQ community.

When undercover officers investigated the club, they found pornography playing on the several televisions and a man openly masturbating on a couch, the report said. The detectives were also provided rules for the club, including "Clean up your own mess; No means no; Only ask once; No costumes or wigs." During a January raid, police arrested a receptionist and a customer who was allegedly engaged in a lewd act on the couch on misdemeanor charges.

Investigators also discovered a small notebook on a front desk inside Club 1000 that detailed a "Plan B" to hide evidence of sexual conduct in case of an inspection, including notifying everyone in the club to get dressed and hiding a DVD rack in front of a metal cabinet with cleaning supplies, according to the police report.
