Welcome to Orlando Weekly's "Band of the Week." Every week, we highlight one of our favorite local bands. This week, we're pleased to bring you Trails.

Trails are playing The Grand Collab at Will's Pub on Dec. 9 with D II & Deaf To The Industry, Deaf Poets, and Table For Three.

Just the facts:

When did the band form?
Sometime in 2011-2012

Who's in the band?
Bryan Burgos plays guitar and Kyle Potter plays drums

Currently available releases:

Websites:
Bandcamp
Facebook

Describe your sound in five words:
Electronic tropical island jazz robots

Five questions:

What has been your most memorable show so far?
Our EP release show at Will's Pub. It turned into a giant dance party.

Which local band is your favorite one to play a show with?
Our sound is pretty out there so we're happy to be invited to play with anyone. But we do miss Thee Wilt Chamberlain...

What description gets used for your band that you would most
like to correct people on? Why?
Math Rock. I think we have aspects of our music that is seen a lot in the genre, like guitar tapping, syncopation, fast tempos, a lot of rhythmic changes, etc. But I don't think our music is calculated or planned out enought to be considered that.

What’s your favorite thing about being an Orlando band? What's your least favorite? Why?
Favorite: The influence of our tropical surroundings.
Least Favorite: Orlando is a very transient place. A lot of people come and go.

Any big news to share?
We're recording a full length album right now and have a ton of new material in the works for future releases!
