Hurricane Irma has had a major impact on local dogs, and now Lake County Animal Shelter is currently seeking anyone looking to take in a new best bud.

The shelter announced today that they are currently housing 210 dogs and are at "critical capacity."

"The hurricane has had a drastic impact on our shelter,” said Shelter Manager Whitney Boylston. “We have taken in an additional 125 animals since Irma hit, with more coming in each day. Some people’s homes are unlivable and they are understandably unable to keep their animals with them any longer."
