Florida Gov. Rick Scott says the state still desperately needs nurses to volunteer their time at shelters, especially special needs shelters.

The governor took to Twitter this afternoon to plead with the public for assistance.
As of now, the state needs roughly 1,000 nurses to assist residents. If you are able to help, please email HelpFL@FLhealth.gov. You can also go to volunteerflorida.org or call 1-800-FL-Help-1.

The Governor says 320 shelters have already opened across the state, with more to open later. For a list of Orlando area shelters, as well as other important resources, click here.
