Welcome to Orlando Weekly's "Band of the Week." Every week, we highlight one of our favorite local bands. This week, we're pleased to bring you Jump Ramp.

Jump Ramp is playing Uncle Lou's on August 4.

Just the facts:

Who's in the band?
SMOKE Alan - Guitar
WHEELS Malone - Bass
HAIL Adam - Drums
SKATAN Tony - Guitar/Vocals

When did the band form?
Long ago, 13 loyal pawns gathered together and slammed cursed Independent 149s through their skulls.  Their blood collected in a drained concrete pool.  Twisting through the unholy nether, Lord Skatan arose.  Summoning 4 wormholes made of blood, each member materialized from the Hesher Dimension.  This is how it begins.

Describe your sound in five words:

Five questions:

What has been your most memorable show so far?
We played at the West End for Sanford’s hurricane party thing. It was lit af 100 fam. We packed the bar in with people that were sick of hearing all that reggae. We were as grateful for them as they were for us. We threw all of the rest of our t-shirts out to the crowd and there was much rejoicing.

Which local band is your favorite one to play a show with?
NEVER SOBER cause they just wanna fuck everything and everyone up. Hesh.

What description gets used for your band that you would most
like to correct people on? Why?
We do not longboard. Longboarding is not skateboarding.

What’s your favorite thing about being an Orlando band? What's your least favorite? Why?
Favorite thing - We're not from Orlando
Least favorite thing - Disney

Any big news to share?
I ate shit at the skatepark two days ago and fell back first into a giant mud puddle while Alan and Adam laughed at me in what felt like humiliating slow motion. Then I lost the game of SKATE we were playing. Stay tuned for all the songs we'll write about that!
