A Marion County Sheriff's deputy made a furry friend yesterday.

In a video posted on the Marion County Sheriff Office's Facebook page, a black bear is seen casually walking past the deputy to the other side of a roadway near the Ocklawaha Prairie Restoration Area.

As the deputy acknowledged him with a "Hey, buddy," the bear turned toward him, leaving the deputy with second thoughts.

The bear seemed to just be a bit curious, sniffing around the car as the deputy climbed back inside. Whether the bear had friendly intentions is unknown, but both parties made it out OK.
