The U.S. Coastguard just released their annual boating report from 2016, and as it turns out Floridians are pretty terrible at boating.

According to the report, Florida had the greatest number of boating accidents in 2016, compared to every other state.

In total, there were 684 boating accidents in Florida in 2016, which was up from 671 the year before, and 581 in 2014.

But Florida isn't alone when it comes to bad boating. Across the country boating accidents are up 7.3 percent, and boating-related deaths are up a staggering 12 percent from 2015 to 2016.

No explanation was given for the increase in accidents, but it's worth remembering that Florida is the third most populated state in the country, with the second most coastline.

We're also packed with tourists, which the report didn't highlight.
