It makes total sense that a brewery dedicated to food-focused brews and an award-winning gastropub that — arguably — changed Orlando's dining scene forever would join forces.

The monthly pig roast at the Ravenous Pig, a favorite pastime among pork purists, will be paired with a tap takeover by Funky Buddha, one of the state's most celebrated breweries out of Ft. Lauderdale. Both signature and seasonal brews will be available from the SoFla sudser, and pints will be available for $5 each.

Since Saturday, May 6, is also Derby Day, anyone coming to the roast in dapper "Derby attire" will also be privy to $6 mint juleps.

This month, the roast plate ($18) will feature whole-hog smoked pork, spare ribs, BBQ gastrique, black-eyed peas, collard greens and cornbread. Plus, a mini chocolate cupcake for dessert. A for-two option, the "Chef's Board" will feature the roast plate plus smoked brisket and chicken with mustard BBQ sauce ($50).
