Watch this 360-degree live stream of today's Atlas V launch

Posted By on Tue, Apr 18, 2017 at 10:53 AM

United Launch Alliance and Orbital ATK will reach a new milestone today when NASA streams the first ever live 360-degree video of a rocket launch.

The OA-7 Cygnus mission to the International Space Station launches from the SLC-42 pad at Cape Canaveral Air Force station starting at 11:11 a.m. EST, and will have a launch window of 35 minutes.

There have been two 360-degree videos of launches in the past, but they have not been live. -

The resupply capsule, which is one of the two capsules used to resupply the International Space Station, has a payload of over 7,600 pounds and will bring supplies for the crew, as well as medical equipment needed to continue the research on how micro-gravity affects the effectiveness of chemotherapy.
