When running through a list of things Orlando's downtown district desperately needs for those of us who work and play here, a proper drug store, where workers who came to the office sick can quickly grab a bag of Ricola drops, nears the top of the list.

Up until now, the closest thing is the Publix in Thornton Park and the off-brand, overpriced, single-dose remedies (maybe) available at 7-Eleven.

Prayers have been answered. Walgreens is coming. The red neon signs went up today.

Walgreens is going into the space formerly housed by Valencia College's downtown campus, the First National Bank and Trust Building, originally built in the late 1930s.

Hilariously, Walgreens will be right across the street from Wahlburgers. The only thing that could make it funnier would be if it were on Wall Street, instead. But alas.
