Headless Horseman to get his own meet-and-greet at Disney's latest upcharge event

Each year at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party, one of the most popular moments is when the Headless Horseman makes his speedy run through the park.

If a quick glance of the Headless Horseman passing by just isn’t enough, then Disney has a new event solely focused on the character and the 1949 animated film that brought him into the Disney family.

Running on select nights between Sept. 29 and Oct. 31, the new Legend of Sleepy Hollow event will include a meet-and-greet with the horseman himself and a screening of the classic Disney film.

Guests will also receive a limited-edition Headless Horseman collectible pin.

The cost to attend is $22 per person, with an upgraded premium package available for $38. The premium package includes priority access to the meet-and-greet, reserved seating in the first five rows, and a special Sleepy Hollow treat bag.

This isn’t the first time the Headless Horseman has been spotted at Fort Wilderness, but in past years he was viewed more as an extra for other events, such as at the Chip 'n Dale Campfire Sing-A-Long.

While the last time Disney's Headless Horseman was on the silver screen was nearly 70 years ago, the character has seen a cult-like following in recent years due to his appearances at Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.

Since this is one of the first times the Headless Horseman has been given his own event, there’s still little to indicate how popular the event may be – so if you’re one of those hard-core Headless Horseman fans, it might be wise to plan ahead when purchasing tickets.

Tickets go on sale for the new event later this month.
