Long a supporter of Republican nominee Donald Trump, Florida Gov. Rick Scott was named the national chairman of a pro-Trump super PAC.

Politico reports in a press release for Rebuilding America Now, which has reportedly raised $2.1 million so far, Scott says it's time to "fire the politicians.

"That’s what this election is all about, and that’s why I am excited to chair the Rebuilding America Now Super PAC to help Donald Trump," Scott says in a statement. "If you like the way things are going in our country today, you should absolutely vote for Hillary Clinton. If you don’t, you must vote for Donald Trump."

Scott, a businessman who self-funded his first campaign, has grouped himself and Trump in the past as political outsiders who can fix what establishment politicians have ruined. In the press release, Scott says former president Bill Clinton made a "laughable attempt" to label Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton a change-maker at the Democratic National Convention this week.

"Everyone in the world knows that she will be just more of the same," Scott says. "I’ve known Donald for about 20 years, long before either of us ever ran for office. He is a businessman and an outsider and he will bring the major change to Washington that our country needs right now. Donald’s race is also a lot like my race for Governor. No one said I had a chance of beating the career politicians when I ran, but I won anyway. We are going to win this presidential race too."
