7-Eleven is giving out free Slurpees to celebrate it's nameday with a little extra pomp and circumstance this time around.

Today only, walk into any participating 7-Eleven store and grab a free small-sized Slurpee. The offer started at 11 a.m. and will run until 7 p.m.

You'll probably notice that the free Slurpee cups look a tad more festive than usual and that's because 7-Eleven is also celebrating Slurpee's 50th Birthday, celebrations of which started back in March with Bring Your Own Cup day.

There's also even a new limited-time Birthday Cake Slurpee to commemorate Slurpee Fiftee.

The official Slurpee Week starts Tuesday, July 12, through July 18, where if you buy 7 Slurpees, you get 11 free.

That may sound like a lot, but hey, it is their birthday.
