Daily Show's Hasan Minhaj calls out Congress for being 'complicit in the deaths of thousands'

Posted By on Fri, Jun 17, 2016 at 3:07 PM

In the wake of Orlando's mass shooting that killed 49 people, Daily Show correspondent Hasan Minhaj closed out his comedy routine at the Radio and Television Correspondents’ Association Dinner Wednesday night by calling out members of Congress for failing to take action on guns.

Addressing members of Congress directly, he said, “We look to you guys as our leaders. You make almost $200,000 a year to write rules to make our society better — not tweet, not tell us about your thoughts and prayers. To write rules to try and make our society better. And ultimately it comes down to money and influence.”
