There's a rumor that Tower of Terror will soon be getting a bar

Themed bars are all the rage in local theme parks right now. At Disney World, we’ve seen new themed bars open to massive crowds at Disney’s Polynesia Village Resort and Disney Springs, while Universal has themed bars in both Harry Potter areas, the Simpsons area and at the Cabana Bay Resort.

Animal Kingdom recently saw a new (lightly) themed bar open near Everest and another is soon to open on Discovery Island. The new Star Wars area at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is also confirmed to be home to a watering hole inspired by Mos Eisley Cantina.

Another new themed bar is rumored for Hollywood Studios, as well. WDW News Today is reporting that a new Tower of Terror bar is in the works for the large exit area of the attraction. The new bar would use some of the currently unused space near the PhotoPass area and the gift shop.

With on-ride photos now being able to be linked to Magicbands, the need for PhotoPass kiosks has declined. The bar could expand into that area if proven popular. The area where the bar is going is rather small so it’s believed this will be more of a walkup bar with few seats.

Hollywood Studios did recently close a walk-up bar, the High Octane Refreshments, as part of a large closure to the backside of the park. The new bar is said to have 1920’s inspired Hollywood Tower Hotel beverages. Many of these new themed bars include souvenir mugs, specialty sizzle sticks and unique drinks.

The Tower of Terror does have a balcony space that is occasionally used for special events, many of which do include a temporary bar. That space has long been rumored as a potential future café or bar but this doesn’t look to be that rumor.

While some are reporting that the bar will be open within the next week or so, that most likely will be a temporary setup while a more permanent one is still a few months away, possibly after the next major rush.

The new bar will likely not be affected by the rumored Guardians of the Galaxy overlay coming to the attraction.
