Some people insist that they left their industrial and nu metal days to rot once the early millennium started to fade away, yet the continuation of California-based rockers Deftones is evidence to the contrary. People's love of this era of melancholic albeit sensual style of music is alive and well and touring, all in support of the group's upcoming album, Gore. It might not be what longtime fans are used to if guitarist Stephen Carpenter's critical comments on the April 8 release are any indication, but this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone who's kept on listening since the self-titled days. The show at the House of Blues is sure to make up for this transition, however. It'd be blasphemous and downright unfeasible for them to go through Orlando without playing "Change (In the House of Flies)" or "7 Words."
