Orlando Eye offers free wedding capsules to 30 couples

Posted By on Mon, Feb 1, 2016 at 6:00 AM

For couples who don't mind if their wedding could be stalled for three hours without air conditioning, the Orlando Eye is offering 30 soon-to-be newlyweds a chance to get married 400 feet in the air for free on Feb. 13.

To be considered, couples must upload a 30-second video to YouTube and send the link to the Orlando Eye team at Include a short description of the lovebirds, relationship highlights and contact information, according to a press release on the Orlando Eye website. Winners will be notified on Monday, Feb. 8.

“We are so excited to launch our wedding package options for the Orlando Eye,” Orlando Eye General Manager Robin Goodchild says in a statement. “We’ve had so many engagements and wedding ceremonies take place on the wheel, we’re thrilled to offer couples an unforgettable wedding experience.”

Technically, you don't have to be getting married. The Orlando Eye is also looking for people who want to renew their vows or have a commitment ceremony.

"Each couple will receive a complimentary wedding private capsule," the release says. "Each couple is responsible for bringing their own bouquets, their own officiant and up to six guests, for a maximum of nine guests in each capsule. Once the ceremonies are complete, the newlyweds and their guests are invited to a champagne and wedding cake reception in the I-Drive 360 Courtyard."
