Six new restaurants to try (or look forward to) in the New Year

The grand opening party for Wahlburgers (in the old Simply Puur space downtown on Orange Avenue) should take place at the end of February. According to a Wahlburgers rep, they’re just waiting confirmation from Mark, Donnie and Paul.

Ocean Sun Brewing will open in the old Southern Moon Smokehouse space on Curry Ford Road the week of Feb. 29, says owner Mark Wilkerson.

Fusion Café, an “Italian & Latin Grill,” has opened in the Coytown Shopping Center on Colonial Drive.

The original Townhouse Restaurant, a mainstay in Oviedo since the '60s, has closed, but the new Townhouse Restaurant has opened near the old location on Central Avenue. Devoted fans have already covered the old building with notes and signatures; the building will be torn down next month.

Morimoto Asia has opened its “street food takeout window,” offering a limited menu. The quick-service window will be open daily from 5-11 p.m., offering rolls, noodles and salads.

In Altamonte Springs, an outpost of the super-popular Jacksonville-based house of big food Metro Diner has opened. We hear the pound cake French toast is beyond.
