The Orlando Fringe is celebrating its 25th year (just like us!), and they have been killing it in recent months with Fringe Year Round, which gives theatergoers the chance to catch the most popular shows they may have missed at Fringe Fest proper.

At the last Fringe, Butt Kapinski won a buttload of awards – 2015 Orlando Fringe Critic's Choice Award for Best Comedy, 2015 Orlando Fringe Patrons' Pick (Blue Venue), 2015 Orlando Fringe Crush and 2015 Orlando Fringe Low Tech Award – as well as a spot on our Top 10 Most Anticipated Shows list, a rave review and inclusion as a "standout" in our Fringe wrap-up.

In this one-person show, Californian comic Deanna Fleysher stars as Butt Kapinski, the archetypal film noir gumshoe … sort of. Kapinski stumbles into a grisly murder, which he proceeds to solve with the help of the audience – at each step, Fleysher recruits members of the audience to serve as cops, corpses and even decomposing organs, eventually ensnaring nearly every patron.

Theater critic Seth Kubersky called Butt Kapinski "a chaotic, bewildering experience that is often extremely odd but never boring" with "boundary-pushing blue humor" and "sprinklings of sharp wit."

Catch Butt Kapinski  at 8 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 1 and 2, and at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 3, in the Mandell Theater at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center, 812 E. Rollins St. Tickets are $16, available here.

Rating: age 18 and up
Length: 60 minutes
Fresh off a sold-out run at the 2015 Orlando Fringe, private eye Butt Kapinski invites you to co-star in a film noir murder mystery. Join Butt in a seedy world of sex, sin, shadows and subterfuge as you take the ride of a full-on interactive comedic experience. Kick reality to the curb! Play in a world of dark dreams and bad similes.
