First of all, did you know that Orlando has a tiny house community? It does. The Orlando Lakefront at College Park: a tiny home and RV community is located just off Orange Blossom Trail, and it currently hosts eight tiny houses. And, we're told, there are more on the way. Right now they share space with RVs and mobile homes, but as time goes by, those are being replaced by more tiny houses being moved in by people who like the idea of being part of a community of like-minded tiny home owners and renters. You can read more about the community on its website, or stop by one of the community's Second Saturday open house events, where you can tour some of the homes yourself (NOTE: There is no open  house scheduled for August due to the heat – check the Facebook page or website for a September open house date.)

Today the park welcomed its newest resident, who moved to the park with the help of the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida and Tiny House of Hope. The new house, which you can see being delivered below, will soon become a home for a homeless veteran or other displaced individual.
