Starting July 1, Planned Parenthood branches in Naples, Orlando and Sarasota joined together to make a new organization called Planned Parenthood of Southwest and Central Florida, according to a press release from the organization.

The new group, based in Sarasota, spans 22 counties and manages 12 health centers, serving about 39,000 patients in the region.

“The new geography allows us to make the necessary investments at a scale that is efficient and to assure the provision of the high quality care needed and expected across the region,” said Sandra Hughes, the incoming Board Chair of the new organization, in the press release. “This consolidation of expertise and talent will enable Planned Parenthood to provide first-rate care and to advocate ever more strongly for women’s health in Florida.”

Patient services won't be disrupted, said Barbara Zdravecky, CEO of the organization, in a statement. The only difference will be the name on the sign.
