Lunchtime listening: 30 songs to psych you up for Bite 30

Posted By on Thu, Jun 4, 2015 at 1:21 PM

Seeing that we kicked off our annual Bite 30 celebration Monday, I thought I'd come up with a Top 30 list of my favorite food-related songs. Admittedly, it was tough to narrow the list down to just 30 tunes, but after a big breakfast and a heavy lunch, I did just that.

[Ed. note: Faiyaz's Canadian roots are clearly visible in this list, what with the Gordon Lightfoot, the Tragically Hip and the, uh, "Stompin' Tom Connors." Anyway, we took his list and made a YouTube playlist so you can listen your way through – consider it a soundtrack for your Friday-afternoon Bite 30 planning.

I'm totally with him on the Nas, the Cibo Matto and the Action Bronson, but I might've included "Roast Fish and Cornbread" by Lee Perry and the Upsetters, or Nat King Cole's "The Frim-Fram Sauce"? Feel free to leave your own recommendations for tasty tunes in the comments.
