Spin and win: Uncle Tony's giveaway at Spacebar's Bring Your Own Vinyl tonight

Posted By on Thu, May 21, 2015 at 10:14 AM

It's hard to ignore the shelves of vinyl that line Spacebar's walls, but it's only placed in the spotlight during their recurring event Bring Your Own Vinyl, which is like an open mic only for casual DJs (or flashy more experienced DJs letting loose in a more casual setting) who want to bring in records they love and give them a whirl for a room of welcoming listeners.

Tonight's edition of Bring Your Own Vinyl is hosted by Brandnu and features a special raffle with a $30 gift certificate giveaway to the newly opened Uncle Tony's Donut Shoppe. Every drink you knock back counts as a separate entry in the raffle, so the more sloshed you get, the better your chances to win. Party starts at 9 p.m. Thursday, May 21. (RSVP!)

How BYOV works:
-Bring records you want to play.
-You get 12-13 minutes (4-5 songs) on the turntables.
-No need to get scratchy or flashy, you can just play the records straight. (If you're familiar with the equipment, though, feel free to go wild.)
