The fact is, Cinco de Mayo is about the Mexican army's victory over the French at the Battle of Puebla on May 5th, 1862. But for some, it's also about appropriating a minor hispanic holiday so we can drink Coronas on a weekday. Anywhoo, however you choose to celebrate the 5th of May, Orlando has plenty of options for tipping back cervezas.

Here's a quick rundown of some of the best ways to celebrate Cinco de Mayo over the next few days:

Southern Cinco de Mayo Bully Bash
When: Sat., May 2, 9 a.m.
Price: $20
Where: Central Florida Fairgrounds
Think of it like the Westminster Dog Show, but just for pitbulls, french bulldogs and well, any bully breed for that matter. The 13th annual American Bully dog show is one of Central Florida's best dog parties. Also, parking is FREE and kids get in FREE!

Cinco de Mayo on Wall St.
When: Sat., May 2, 7 p.m.
Price: Free
Where: Wall St. Plaza
Cinco de Mayo on Wall St. is one of the biggest Cinco parties going down this year. It actually spans three days (May 2nd, May 3rd and May 5th). Every party will have drink specials, live music, bull riding, a mariachi band, mustaches, sombreros and more. Check their site for the full list of activities.

Running of the Chihuahuas
When: Sunday, May 3, 10 a.m.
Price: Free-$20
Where: Cocina 214
Speaking of dogs, how does 100 tiny, bug-eyed, Chihuahuas running down a racetrack sound? Anyone can enter the Chihuahua and proceeds benefit Winter Park Lost Pets and A Cause 4 Paws Rescue. Registration begins at 10 a.m., and the puppy races begin at 11 am.

O-Town at The House of Blues
W/ Crazy Carls
When: Sat., May 2, 7:30 p.m.
Price: $19.50-$23
Where: House of Blues
Ok this isn't really a Cinco de Mayo party, but come on it's O-Town...Orlando's favorite boy band. Sorry.

Cinco de Mayo
When: Tue., May 5, 4-10 p.m.
Price: Expect cover
Where: Johnny's Other Side
This spot has great food and a perfect patio for sippin' on Patron. For Cinco de Mayo, Johnny's is offering up half off drinks and half off fish tacos! Plus, you can shake a leg with DJ Angel Rivera from RealRadio 104.1.

Smash Club: Cinco de Melee
When: Tue., May 5, 7-10 p.m.
Price: Free
Where: BART
What better way to commemorate the Mexican army's victory over the French, by playing Super Smash Brothers Melee? This tournament is free and there will be drink specials and Daydream Pizza for purchase!

Coronado Springs Cinco de Mayo
When: Tue., May 5, 8 p.m.
Price: Free
Where: Coronado Springs Resort
If you're staying at Coronado Springs, or you're in the area, you may want to know about this little shindig. Expect food and drink specials, DJ and a sombrero contest!

Cinco de Glow Foam Party
When: Tue., May 5, 9 p.m.
Price: Free
Where: Bloodhound Brew Pub & Eatery
Bloodhound Brew is turning their entire parking lot into a massive glob of foam. There will be plenty of cheap drink specials and DJ Byrd will be keeping it moving. Tickets are free online

White Trash Bash III: Cinco de Drinko
When: Tue., May 5, 10 p.m.
Price: Free
Where: Backbooth
"Backbooth is flipping the script for the more socially conscious drunkards out there. They’re throwing one of their White Trash Bashes, full of drinking and chugging contests sponsored by PBR, throwing an all-star band on stage to perform mariachi-style covers of classic punk songs and, the best part, having a white-people costume contest. Come dressed as fratty or preppy as you can – think cargo shorts, sleeveless tees, painters caps, Lilly Pulitzer dresses; bonus points for anything associated with the band Sublime."
