Winter Park may most recently seem like a hotbed of political drama – see the spat over the utilization of the term “Negro Town” in this month’s mayoral stakes, gasp! – but when the ugly settles down, the glitzy burg is more known for its ladies who lunch and the Park Avenue down which they stroll (also, no good parking). Every year come springtime – for 56 years now – that stroll is mildly bedazzled by an art festival packed full of booths and boosterism. This year, however – beyond the typical fare of candles and paintings and sculptures and other wall-hanging ephemera (plus a beer garden) – the festival takes on a new significance: There will be free SunRail trips to and from the art fair (there’s a SunRail station RIGHT THERE) as a means of avoiding the congestion of parking gawkers. There is also a complimentary bike valet! It’s like you don’t even have to work to get there anymore!
