According to multiple news sources, there's a bill being floated in Congress that would revive passenger rail between Orlando, Jacksonville and New Orleans. Before Hurricane Katrina, there was an Amtrak line that shuttled passengers from Orlando to NOLA, but storm damage knocked the service out of commission. According to the Panama City News Herald, the tracks have been repaired but are not currently being used for passenger trains.

This link shows which stops are still active on the Sunset Limited route, which still operates between Los Angeles and New Orleans.

The bill, which you can read here, would authorize Congress to spend $7.2 billion on Amtrak between 2016 and 2019.
