The former ghost town that was Festival Bay mall is showing signs of life. Inspired by similar attractions like New York’s Chelsea Market, Seattle’s Pike Place, and London’s Flower Market, Artegon Marketplace is on the right track to re-inventing the traditional Orlando shopping experience. Although centered in the heart of the tourism district (North I-Drive), the Village at Artegon Marketplace is home to 165 local artisan shops providing several different crafts and services included handmade accessories, mixed media artwork, and locally sourced dining. Still in its beginning stages, Artegon Marketplace continues to grow, and today it announced the opening of new tenants.

In addition to four new food kiosks coming to the Grat Hall later this month – U Roll Express, the Belgian Waffles, Le Petit Café and Yogen Früz – in April Artegon will also see the arrival of International Hot Glass, a 4,300-square-foot space that will showcase global artwork and give people a chance to create their own blown-glass pieces with the help of a professional glassblower.

In June comes Gods & Monsters, a high-end comic and collectable shop said to be another first of its kind in the country. The store will be massive, with 19,000 square feet packed with new and rare collectibles, as well as a pop-culture art gallery that’ll feaeture notable comic- and media-theemd art from local, national and international artists.

Finally, sometime this summer, the space will see the opening of the area’s second trampoline park, Sky Zone. The indoor park will let patrons bounce on trampolines and dive into a pit of foam cubes for “fun fitness.”
