It's a Wonderful Life
has been ringing holiday bells (and giving angels their wings) since it hit the big screen back in 1946. However, most of us haven't been lucky enough to catch the classic on screens bigger than the ones in our living rooms. Enzian wants to remedy that this season with a showing of It's a Wonderful Life as part of its Saturday Matinee Classics series.

For just $8 on Dec. 13, you can settle yourself into one of Enzian Theater's comfy chairs, order up some drinks and snacks and lose yourself in the holiday magic of Frank Capra's five-time Academy Award nominated film.

James Stewart stars as George Bailey, a man who plans to commit suicide on New Year's Eve, but is interrupted by his guardian angel, Clarence. During the film, Clarence shows George how different his town of Bedford Falls, New York, would be if he were not a part of it.

Stewart has said that this was his favorite film he has ever worked on, and it shows from beginning to end.

If you can't catch it on the big screen this weekend, look for it on USA Network or buy a digital copy on Amazon or iTunes. Just make sure it's the original black and white version. It loses something when colorized.

The details:
When: Noon, Saturday, Dec. 13
Where: Enzian Theater, 1300 S. Orlando Ave., Maitland
Cost: $8 ($5 for Enzian members)
