St. Matthew's Cinematheque and Sunspot Cinema host a night of experimental films

Posted By on Tue, Nov 11, 2014 at 4:35 PM

Hosted by Sunspot Cinema and St. Matthew’s Cinematheque, tonight brings a series of weird and wonderful experimental films by UCF Film alumni called Former Models: Recent Experimental Films. Screenings include films like Lindsay Denniberg’s Real Live Girls: Bethany, inspired by online pornography and live camgirls; the titular Former Models by Benjamin Pearson, a meditation on the loss of self in the public eye that retraces the parabolic career of Milli Vanilli as narrated by Rob Pilatus

in a robot voice; or the provocatively strange Human Body Battleground Organ Organism by Metrah Pashaee, a moving image collage that looks at “investigating the penis and vagina as disembodied vessels.” And there’s free popcorn!

7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12 | St. Matthew’s Tavern, 1300 N. Mills Ave. | | free
