Last week, Spencer McKee posted an article on real estate site Movoto's blog titled "These 15 Florida restaurants will blow the taste buds out of your mouth." Two Orlando restaurants made the list: Gnarly Barley and Trevi Pasta.

Of course, we love both of these Orlando eateries, having sung the praises of Trevi's fresh, hand-cut pasta ("Pound for pound, the Falcones’ pastas are unbeatable, and if dinner calls for the Italian staple, I’m heading to Trevi.") and Gnarly Barley's superior pub grub ("The 'Snack Attack,' a dive-bar version of nachos, consists of a pile of fresh kettle chips practically hidden by mounds of shredded chicken, blue cheese and pico de gallo

It's a perfect messy dish to share with friends over a couple of cold ones."). Proud as we are of all the attention that the biggies like Ravenous Pig and East End Market get in the national press, it's nice to see restaurants other than the usual suspects get some love, too.

Trevi and Gnarly Barley are joined by 13 other Florida restaurants, including Pepe's Cafe & Steakhouse in Key West, Voodoo Dog in Tallahassee, Up the Creek Raw Bar in Apalachicola and more. You can check out the entire list here.

Here's what McKee had to say about the Orlando gems:

Gnarly Barley: "The Gnarly Barley has no problem making Tuesday the best day of the week, with $2 tacos featuring fillings like succulent chipotle brisket. It’s easy to heat things up here by adding what they call a 'tiger stripe' to your dish. To top it off, they’ve got a great selection of craft beers to wash down any meal."

Trevi Pasta: "With fresh, handmade pasta in all of their dishes, Trevi probably does Italian better than Italy. Nothing says heaven like a perfectly stuffed ravioli pocket topped with Bolognese sauce. Just make sure to save room for a scoop of gelato at the end of the meal."

To come up with this list of tastebud-blowing Florida restaurants, McKee referenced online ratings and professional critic reviews, as well as his own personal experiences eating his way around Florida.
