more than 30 bands | 3 p.m. Saturday | various venues in Mills 50 District | | $15 (cash only day of event)

When you walk down Mills Avenue, the street art pops – Dolla $hort’s hoofed reprobate decorates Will’s Pub, across the street are those beloved tiled bear mosaics, look up and you’ll see Mark Gmehling’s squishy, shiny drinsch character who’s probably so disappointed by whatever poor decisions the drinks at Wally’s or Peacock have led you to. Now, the neighborhood mavens of Mills 50 have put together an event to raise money for more public art and celebrate an array of Orlando culture with Music on Mills, an arts fair strongly seasoned with a far-flung variety of great Orlando musicians. Although his name is sorta buried on the event flier, notable Orlando rapper Wes Fif is performing (we missed his last show at Bullitt Bar with Niko Is – serious regret!), as is a slew of fun acts, from the soul-shaking Sh-Booms and countrified Hymn for Her to intriguing solo shows from Phil Longo (ButterQueen), Daniel Hanson (Fat Night) and more. Stages are set indoors and outdoors at five participating venues: BART, St. Matthew’s Tavern, the Peacock Room, Wally’s and Will’s Pub, so wear comfy shoes! – Ashley Belanger
