The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame named Sonny Curtis' massive hit "I Fought the Law" among 500 "Songs That Shaped Rock," but it's a little pessimistic for the discussion they'll be having at Will's Pub on how to make the law fight for you as a musician. Entertainment and property law genius Davey Spicciati, Esq., (The Draves Law Firm, PA) will give a free presentation at the pub from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 17. (RSVP)

It's called "Music Law 101," so expect the presentation to cover the basics on copyrighting and licensing your music, but if you check out the Facebook event, you can comment with specific questions you'd like answered, and the night will culminate in a Q&A for those who have questions that arise during the discussion.

Face it, the music industry is a bitchy, confusing landscape for an artist to navigate alone, and there's so much bad advice - not to mention that vast quantity of misleading services - that this is an opportunity local musicians could really benefit from. So maybe bring some pen and paper to jot down something other than your set list.
