At last! Details for Wally's awesome 60th anniversary party on Sunday, Sept. 14, have arrived in flier form! Any seasoned Wally's-goer knows the longstanding, long-loved dive services your needs from 7:30 a.m. til 2 a.m. every day except Sunday (the Lord's Day), so when they open their doors on the regularly observed day of rest this time each year, it's obviously a special occasion.

This year, they invited celebrated Central Florida blues man Ben Prestage, the whiskey-fueled one-man-band who draws fans from both Florida coasts and even further North for his riveting renditions of classics like "Cocaine Blues," "Curtis Lowe" and "Are You From Dixie" as well as memorable, dosey-doe-inspiring originals like "Tell the Devil I'm Gone," "One Crow Murder," and "Weedhead." He'll be joined on their outdoor stage by commanding rock trio Milka, whose massive sound will likely contend with (and possibly overpower) the neighboring outdoor stage at Will's Pub (they're turning 19, ain't that cute). Rounding out the night (likely before any of Wally's devoted patrons will) is the ever-versatile Derek and the Slammers (currently unsure which version of the band will be performing, but it'll be as indulgent as those doubles you're slamming, fear not.)

Party starts at 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14, and they're also advertising free food and prizes. If we're extra lucky (and who hasn't gotten lucky at Wally's at least once?), sponsoring firm Morgan & Morgan's John Morgan will make an appearance in his limo (like you didn't know la-da-di-da-di he liked to party), and maybe even sing along with one of Derek's rockin' covers (request: Kiss - "Heaven's on Fire").
