Shelter Cats Are Beautiful Tour

Each year millions of cats enter shelters and are often quickly put into cages. If it’s not heartbreaking enough that these cats are often scared, hungry and sometimes dirty, a photo is snapped of them in this unfortunate state. This photo is then used to attract people looking to adopt. This is unfair right?

Television personality, best-selling author and pet lover Rachael Ray and her pet food brand Nutrish have partnered with GreaterGood.org’s One Picture Saves a Life. Together, they will travel across the country taking photos worthy of these hopeful cats who are simply looking for a loving home. Tomorrow, the “Shelter Cats are Beautiful Tour” is coming to Pet Alliance.

The goal of the “Shelter Cats are Beautiful Tour” is to get people to see just how beautiful shelter cats are in hope of getting them into loving homes more quickly.

The program will also provide shelters with the necessary tips, tools and equipment to groom and capture best possible photographs of shelter pets in the future.

Rachael is dedicated to helping animals in need and donates her proceeds from the sale of Rachael Ray Nutrish to help animal support organizations.

The details:

When: 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30
