If you cross your eyes a little bit, the above photo looks like some weird creature of the future emerging from a body of water, but really it's just a stolen car with its trunk open.

Earlier this morning, Florida Highway Patrol Troopers found the car submerged in Lake Florence (located near Good Holmes Road and Silver Star Road). Troopers smashed out a window of the Nissan sedan to ensure that there were no bodies inside.

According to FHP, the vehicle did not seem to have been involved in a crash; it just snuck out of the driveway and took a little dip. The car's owner had not even had the chance to report it stolen before it was discovered.

The sedan has since been removed from the lake and officers are currently investigating how it ended up there in the first place.
