In light of Lewis Duncan’s resignation from Rollins last month, the Board of Trustees has appointed Craig McAllaster as acting college president on June 9. Monday’s announcement from Board chairman, David Lord, expressed plans to select a permanent president by summer 2015.

McAllaster is returning from retirement as the former Dean of the Roy Crummer Graduate School of Business. The Columbia University alum has worked at Rollins for 20 years as both an administrator and faculty member.

During the course of the 2014-2015 academic year, Allen Keen will act as chair of the Presidential Search Committee. Keen is a longtime trustee and served as chair for the search committees that resulted in the presidencies of Rita Bornstein at Rollins and Paul Gianini at Valencia College. The committee will convene in July, with the initial task of selecting a the firm to begin the search for a permanent Rollins College president.
