Road trip? See Miranda July speak at the University of Tampa 6/15 (plus a new project announcement!)

Posted By on Fri, Jun 14, 2013 at 9:08 PM

Sorry if we're catching you a bit late with all of this, but the email about it just came through about July's speaking engagement at the University of Tampa on Saturday, June 15th, at the Vaughn Center (9th Floor). The notice says that it is a reading, so one would assume she'll either be reading from one of her previous essay books (her 2012 book It Chooses You is a really great read btw), or perhaps a sneak peek chapter of her new novel. I don't see anything about cost or seating, or, alarmingly, since I'm 100 words into writing this, whether it's open to non-UT students.

July also announced on Friday night a vague new email project called We Think Alone. Beginning July 1st, the 20 week project will deliver one email a week "from the sent mail boxes" of various writers and artists such as July, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Lena Dunham, Kirstin Dunst and others.
