Tech-savvy British Isles Adventure Race set to go down in Audubon Park

Posted By on Fri, May 17, 2013 at 10:00 AM

Saturday, May 18 – British Isles Adventure Race

check-in at noon, race begins at 2 p.m.

Audubon Park Garden District

East Winter Park Road and Corrine Drive

When it comes to themed neighborhood revelry, Audubon Park’s increasingly become the place to be – area merchants and bars go all out for Zombietoberfest, Bastille Day and other annual festivities. It’s all the same plus more for this year’s British Invasion bash, with the addition of the inaugural British Isles Adventure Race. This heated match pits teams of two or three in a tech-savvy, on-foot scavenger hunt through Audubon Park, by using smart phones and digital cameras to complete race points (which involve both challenges and photo stops). You’ll need a smart phone to participate, costumes are strongly encouraged, and the winners take home a bundle of prizes including Orlando City Soccer tickets and gift cards to Sci-Fi City. Bikes, Beans and Bordeaux kicks off the day with live music at a Mad Hatter Tea; and because win or lose, you should still booze, Redlight Redlight serves up craft beer, wine and cane sugar soda at the post-race party. – Aimee Vitek
