Fun fact: If you were to put Orlando’s biggest and baddest names in local music in a room together, your head would explode. OK, so it’s not a fun fact, but it’s an interesting theory. Here’s a place you can test it out: Soul of Da City’s Smashington Music and Art Festival, featuring DJ Dizzle Phunk’s Orlando1 compilation album release. Experience the best of O-town’s hip-hop, metal, reggae, soul and funk musicians – 50 acts in all, over three stages. There will be live art by some of Orlando’s most well respected visual artists, including German Lemur, Artist Perego, Ed Seymore II and Apartment E, while the NORML tent provides info about the movement to legalize marijuana. Plan on showing up at noon, but if that head theory turns into reality, don’t say we didn’t warn you. – Katherine Ramirez Massey
