Most people outside of Orlando recognize Wes Fif for his appearance on the B.O.B. track “Haterz Everywhere,” but here we know him better than that. The words “rapper” and “entrepreneur” frequently go hand in hand, as the sharp, singular focus that goes into spitting tightly woven rhymes can just as often be powerfully redirected down other avenues. Wes Fif wants to rep that lifestyle for Orlando, and with his label Street Smart Music and his City-Beautiful name-dropping mixtape International Drive, he’s admirably on his way to doing just that. He says that “international drive” also refers to his motivation to rise to worldwide fame, and with his versatility as an artist, he has the talent to turn heads if he can get it together in the way his major influences have. And don’t sleep on the opener, either; West Palm Beach’s Will Brennan is an up-and-comer already getting recognition for being so fresh. – Ashley Belanger
