Art displays, skateboarding demos and more at Welcome 2 Jam Rock

Saturday, March 30 – Welcome 2 Jam Rock

10 a.m. to sundown

Orlando Festival Park

2911 E. Robinson St.

We like to think of Orlando as a place where creativity meets ingenuity – and that’s especially true when it comes to our city’s mix of artists and extreme sports provocateurs. To showcase all that Orlando has to offer, this weekend the Kevin Sutton Show from 740 am and Future 6 Clothing present Welcome 2 Jam Rock, an outdoor jumble of music, art, retail vendors and extreme sports set in the near-downtown environs of Orlando Festival Park. Local musicians – the likes of Symphonic Tides, DJ Leilani, Death Valley Beach Bums and the Hard Richards – take the stage throughout the day, while Apartment E gathers a host of local artists to showcase works. Meanwhile, skateboarders and BMX riders grab some air with half-pipe demos, a best trick competition and Insta-Ramp’s Open Am Death Box Challenge (with $500 up for grabs). Now that just sounds like it hurts. – Shelby England
