Panorama Photography Show portrays panoramic view of Orlando community

Friday, March 29 – Panorama Photography Show

8 p.m.

Urban ReThink

625 E. Central Blvd.

Imagine if Pet Collective, the YouTube channel home to adorable livestreams like KittenCam, CorgiCam and BaldEagleCam, could point its recording eye all over Orlando, capturing random snapshots of locals in real time. That’s kind of what the Panorama Project has accomplished. In January, simple disposable cameras were left at various spots around Orlando with instructions attached: “Take the camera for one week and photograph your life.” Then cameras were collected at specified drop-off points and the film developed. Each photograph from these cameras suspends a single Orlando moment – when combined, like sentences building a story, they’ll portray a panoramic view of the community. This exhibition at Urban ReThink, curated by the project organizers, offers a chance for the photographers to reveal themselves and to meet each other, thereby beginning another chapter. – Jessica Bryce Young
