Closing reception tonight for Brian R. Jobe and Jason S. Brown's Alignment 2x show

Posted By on Thu, Feb 21, 2013 at 11:00 AM

Thursday, Feb. 21 – Alignment 2x Closing Reception 6-8 p.m. UCF Center for Emerging Media 500 W. Livingston St. 407-823-2121 free

UCF’s Center for Emerging Media is a little spot of intellectual challenge marooned downtown on the “other” side of I-4, facing the parking-lot ocean behind the dead husk of the old Amway Arena. If you take advantage of all that parking, though (at your own risk; we know nothing about the parking restrictions there), you’ll find not only the lovely Flying Horse Editions print studio but also Gallery 500, a downtown satellite of UCF’s on-campus art gallery, and one that mirrors the tech-forward vibe of the CEM. Tonight sees the closing party for an installation by Brian R. Jobe and Jason Sheridan Brown – a cerebral group of works constructed of plywood, string and other common materials that investigates ideas of exchange and dialogue, growth and decay, using sequentially ordered elements to create or destroy visual rhythms. – Jessica Bryce Young
