Sunday, Jan. 20 – Southern Fried Sunday Seven-Year Anniversary Show

5 p.m.

Will's Pub

1042 N. Mills Ave.

Like a good batch of collard greens, Southern Fried Sundays have been stewing for a long time – seven years, actually. For their anniversary show, the regularly rowdy way to wind down the week turns rockabilly with three local acts, Rocket 88, Big Jef Special (pictured) and the NovaRays, in addition to a visit from the Space Coast’s the Blast-Offs. In between sets, WPRK’s DJ White Lightning will play the classic country singers who inspire pretty much anybody who’s ever been part of the tradition of SFS. And to commemorate this extra-special event, signed and numbered Stainboy silkscreen posters will be available, with a surprise for the lucky person who buys No. 777: free entry to SFS for the year, a Will’s Pub bar tab, a free tattoo and whatever else organizer extraordinaire Jessica Pawli has stashed in the prize pack. Happy anniversary, Southern Fried Sunday, and thanks for all the barbecue! – Ashley Belanger
