Fans of The Wedding Singer remember the beloved standout from the soundtrack, “I Wanna Grow Old With You,” Adam Sandler’s humorous attempt at depicting elderly love. It’s in the similar spirit of the mundane that comedian/musician Stephen Lynch also draws inspiration for his amusing tunes. He’s touring on his new double live album, Lion, on which, among other things, he pokes fun at lame tattoos, lazy eyes, being too Jesus-y and being in Tennessee. In the title track, Lynch does a duet with himself to win a lady’s heart, with competing lines pushing the limits of what he would or wouldn’t do to win her love. He’s toured with the best modern comedians, including co-headlining on Mitch Hedberg’s last tour, and Comedy Central liked him well enough to give him two specials. So if you missed out on Louis C.K. a few weeks ago, consider Stephen Lynch’s set to be this week’s hilarious makeup exam. – Ashley Belanger
