Maybe you know Danielle Best – she’s a bartender at the Eden Bar at the Enzian, so if you’re a regular there, there’s a good chance she’s served you a drink. But even if you don’t know her, you may know someone who’s been in a situation like hers and you might want to help her out. Recently, while riding her motorcycle, she was hit by a car. The accident fractured her spine, and she had to have surgery to have metal rods inserted in her back. She’s been unable to work while she recovers, and – to add insult to injury – the motorist who hit her had the lowest level of insurance you can legally carry in Florida, so Best has been inundated with medical bills. The Enzian is holding a benefit for Best, which will include a late-night happy hour, silent auction and a midnight showing of Fight Club. Have a drink at the bar, bid on some items and buy a ticket to the show to help Danielle get back on her feet (and back to work at the bar). – Erin Sullivan
