Are you experiencing withdraws from Star Wars Weekends and Celebration VI? Do you wish Orlando had more than two large Star Wars themed events this year? Well, then you’re in luck. A traveling exhibition called Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination is coming to the Orlando Science Center this Saturday, October 13th and it’s staying all the way until April 7th. The exhibition focuses on the technologies featured in the Star Wars films and highlights current research that may lead to real-life applications of some of those technologies. The exhibition also showcases props and costumes from both the classic Star Wars trilogy as well as the prequel trilogy. If that’s still not enough Star Wars for you, Stormtroopers from the 501st Legion will march to City Hall at noon today, October 9th to make Mayor Buddy Dyer an honorary Stormtrooper as a kickoff ceremony for the exhibition. With all the Star Wars centric events we have in town it’s no surprise that there was a petition to change the name of Orlando to Lando a few years ago.
