OW contributor Seth Kubersky called her “the smartest sex writer east of the Mississippi” after the release of her book Crazy Little Thing last year. This week, former OW columnist Liz Langley dabbles in her theatrical side with the debut of her first play, The Queen and I. A collaborative effort with director Rob Ward and Wanzie Presents, Langley’s The Queen and I shoves fairy-tale darling Snow White aside for a royal romp starring Wicked Queen Perpetua Dank (Elizabeth Murff), her scheming servant Chaos (Josh Eads-Brown) and the Magic Mirror, Mirror on the Wall (Addison Taylor). The themes of power, love and secrets abundant in The Queen and I will play out every Saturday in October at the Footlight Theatre and, as Langley herself says, it’ll have you thinking about how “none of us is really all good or all evil.” – Salo Steinvortz
