If you’re thinking about adding a new pet to your family, for the love of god, steer clear of the puppy store. According to a recent study released by the Humane Society of the United States, Florida ranks No. 1 for the number of complaints about sick puppies purchased from pet stores – that’s because a lot of those pups (and kittens) come straight from puppy mills, where dogs and cats are bred like rabbits to feed the retail demand for adorableness. kind of like speed-dating, only your chance of meeting your match is probably better.
